Ms. Stumpf First Grade Class

Monday, December 10, 2012

This will be a special week in first grade. We will be "traveling" around the world to study how different countries celebrate the Holiday Season.  We will be traveling to: Mexico, Israel, Italy and Sweden.  Each day we will discuss how people in these countries celebrate during this holiday season. On Friday (12/14) we will study Italy. Part of our activity will be discussing what types of foods they eat during the holidays. We have decided to have the children experience some Italian food for a small snack in the afternoon.  As a class we will be making individual pizzas for an afternoon snack. In order to do this we will need your help. Below you will see the list of supplies we will need for our classroom. If you are willing to donate any of the items please send me an email with the ingredients you will send. I truly appreciate your willingness to help supply our classroom with many items from food, to paper products to school supplies! Thank you, thank you!!

2 packages of english muffins

1 large can of pizza sauce

3 packages of mozzarella cheese

1 large bag of pepperoni pieces

1 package of spoons

1 package of small paper plates

1 package of wax paper or parchment paper

When we study the holiday season in Mexico we will be making a piƱata craft to go with it. I am in need of 2 empty and clean egg cartons for this project. Preferably not styrofoam.  Again thank you for your generous donations!

Please email me at mstumpf@mid-prairie.k12.ia.us if you wish to help donate some of these supplies!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

One other quick note...It is getting very COLD outside, please make sure your child has a warm coat, hat and gloves. (a scarf helps keep their face warm also).  If you do not have these items at home please contact me!

Stay warm,
Ms. Stumpf
