Reach for the Stars: I hope all of your kiddos have been excited this past week about our reading challenge! Students are to be recording the amount of minutes they read at home on their calendar.  We are approaching the end of our first week, that means only one more week to record those minutes. Remember that we are trying to reach a school goal of 80,000 minutes.  Special awards will be given out to the most minutes read and to the class with the best participation!  KEEP READING THOSE MINUTES FIRST GRADE FRIENDS!

Our Annual Spring Music and Art Show is this Thursday. The Art Show starts at 6:30 with the Music Concert following at 7:00.  Don't forget to bring your smiles and to have your child use the restroom before you bring them to sit with their class.

KE Fun Night is quickly approaching. Each year the Boosters ask classrooms to help put together baskets to have at the silent auction. This year we are changing things up and not only having a silent auction but a live one as well! All proceeds go right back to the Boosters which in turn goes right back to the classrooms.  For this years First Grade basket we are asking for Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinal items. This can include but is not limited to: t-shirts, lanyards, posters, stuffed animals, hats, decals, helmets and anything else you see or find. Please start sending items to school with your child so that the Booster members can start putting baskets together. Are you interested in being a Booster parent? It's easy, just send me an email and I will help you get started! :-)
