WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!

We have had a very exciting first week of school! We have a large class but are all becoming great friends! I have enjoyed this week so much, all of this kiddos are so wonderful. We started our week off by getting to know our classroom and each other. Students are becoming more and more familiar with our classroom surroundings. We have played several games to help us learn more about each other. We especially liked the one where we had to find one person that like or did specific things on our paper. Such things included: having one sister, wearing blue, living on a farm, likes pizza and is wearing socks! It was a silly game and everyone had a blast.

We read a story called If you take a Mouse to School, and then created our own version called, If you take a Cat to Kalona Elementary. We brainstormed all the silly things a cat could do in our school and everyone was able to create a page for our class book. It turned out great!

We enjoyed all of our specials this week including our newest special, Spanish! Ms. Lundberg did a great job and the kids are really enjoying learning another language.
