SNACK, SNACK AND MORE SNACK! OUR BUCKET IS ALMOST EMPTY! Thanks for all you do for us in first grade!

Reach for the Stars reading challenge has begun! Yesterday we had 45 minutes of solid reading in our classroom. Today we had 80 minutes of independent reading, partner reading or whole class reading! IT IS SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING HIS/HER CALENDAR EVERYDAY TO SCHOOL! We will record our school minutes and add up everyone's total minutes each day to help keep a class and school total! Please help your child remember his/her calendar each day!

At the conclusion of our reading challenge we will be celebrating the awesome reading of all the kids by having a Chili Supper on Jan. 26. The meal is from 5-7:30 and the Book Fair is from 4:30-8:00. How ever much your child raises in reading pledges they will get a certificate for half that amount to spend at the book fair! The other half goes to the KE Library for new books!

The top 2 readers in the school will get to throw a pie at Mr. Cayton! The top reading class will enjoy a cookie party! Help our class and students succed by reading at home and sending their calendars back each day!

Mrs. Billups and Ms. Spring are in need of gallon milk jugs. If you have some please send them to school with your child and I will make sure they get to one of the Kindergarten rooms. Please have the lids on them and have them rinsed out.
